Class is back in session
One of the first individuals to offer me an opportunity after I graduated was my former high school football coach, Coach Kirby. I approached him with my portfolio and inquired about taking charge of the team's branding. It was a bold move, but it paid off. Five years later, I am still working with the football team and have also extended my work to three other teams.
Battle of 119 T-Shirts
Leading the art direction, I designed a t-shirt to represent my old high school at the first annual 'Beast of the East' football game against Southeast Alamance. I chose a vintage football 'Bowl' design that featured both teams' helmets colliding. The shirts were a resounding success, with over three hundred shirts sold in just one week.
Designing the t-shirt for the inaugural game is a chance to leave a lasting impression and commemorate a significant moment. I captured the essence of this historic event by incorporating unique elements like the founding year of each school, team mascots, or iconic symbols representing the schools. Collaborating with the schools, athletes, and fans can add a personal touch, ensuring that the t-shirt becomes a cherished memento of this milestone.
2023 Game Program
As a dedicated graphic designer, I took the lead in shaping the visual narrative for our football team by spearheading the art direction for our game program. Collaborating seamlessly with photographers and coaches, I ensured that every player's essence and contribution were authentically captured within the pages of the program. Working hand in hand with the team, I meticulously coordinated with sponsors, orchestrating the seamless integration of their logos and pages to enhance the overall visual appeal.
I incorporated detailed statistics and historic records, offering readers a journey through the team's illustrious past. This not only provided a valuable resource for fans but also immortalized the team's achievements and milestones over the years. Through this project, I aimed not just to create a program but to craft a visual chronicle that encapsulated the spirit, history, and collaborative efforts of our football community.
